Cerruti 1881 – a name that stands for elegance, expertise and that certain something. Nino Cerruti was born in Italy in 1930, the son of a textile industrialist. After the death of his father, Nino took over the fabric factory Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti at the age of 20, which had been founded by his grandfather and his brothers in Biella in 1881.
In 1967, he founded his fashion house for luxury ready‑to‑wear sizes: Cerruti 1881 Maison de Couture. At the same time, Nino presented the fashion label’s first men’s collection and showed the whole world the unique lifestyle and splendour of Italian fashion. Cerruti launched its first women’s collection in 1968.
